FAQ

  • Do you accept insurance?

Yes, we accept Highmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield to help make therapy more accessible. If you’re out-of-network or choosing to pay privately, we can provide a superbill (a detailed receipt) you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement, depending on your coverage.

  • How much are sessions?

Session fees vary depending on the clinician you are working with, their level of experience, and their credentials. Each provider also offers a limited number of sliding scale options, which may vary based on availability and individual circumstances.

We recommend scheduling a free 15-minute consultation to discuss fees, availability, and any questions you may have before getting started.

  • What are the benefits of private pay therapy?

While insurance can make therapy more accessible for some, it can also come with limitations. Choosing private pay therapy allows for greater flexibility, privacy, and personalization in your care.

Insurance companies often require a mental health diagnosis for coverage, and not all diagnoses or areas of support are covered. With private pay, you have more control over your care without needing to meet insurance requirements or worry about claims being denied, session limits, or treatment being dictated by insurance guidelines.

Private pay also allows for more flexibility in the type of work we do, the frequency of sessions, and the length of treatment. Some clients benefit from longer sessions, more intensive support, or a pace that does not fit within traditional insurance limitations.

  • How do we meet for sessions?

We provide virtual therapy across Pennsylvania and in-person therapy in Chester County, PA. Sessions are available online through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform or in-person at 257 W. Uwchlan Ave, Downingtown, PA 19335.

  • What can I expect from our first session?

The first session is a space to slow down, connect, and begin understanding your unique story. We’ll explore what brought you to therapy, your experiences, patterns, strengths, and what you hope to create moving forward.

It’s also an opportunity for you to feel into whether our relationship feels like the right fit—there is no pressure! A strong therapeutic connection is the foundation of meaningful work.

Together, we’ll identify your goals and create a collaborative plan that honors your needs, pace, and personal journey.

  • How do I know if you’re the right therapist for me?

Finding the right therapist is an important part of the healing process. We offer free 15-minute consultations so you can ask questions, learn more about our approach, and get a sense of whether we may be a good fit for your needs.

Your first session is also a low-pressure opportunity to feel into the therapeutic relationship and see how it feels to work together. We believe the connection between therapist and client is a key foundation for meaningful progress.

If at any point you feel like we’re not the right fit, that’s completely okay and a normal part of the process. We are happy to support you in finding a therapist who better aligns with what you’re looking for.
